Estantería mural A (Shelving A) is a sculpture that forms part of the research developed around the exhibition Líquida superficie sólida (Liquid Solid Surface, 2021). The work consists of an aluminium wall-mounted shelf commonly found in commercial spaces, containing the remains of a house that was destroyed by fire in the locality of Los Riscos, Los Lagos Region, Chile. It brings together objects and metal fragments that, as a result of combustion, transitioned from a solid to a liquid state and subsequently solidified again as they cooled. The shelving unit, associated with the display, storage, and circulation of commodities, contrasts with the nature of the objects it contains, which are transformed here into remnants of a fire and physical traces of combustion.
